East Elfers Cemetery

I apologize for contacting you in the middle of the Covid19 situation.  Unfortunately, time is of the essence.  In case you have not heard, Asbury United Methodist church is closing in just a few weeks.

I hear you saying to yourself “so, how does this matter to me?”  – I have the answer.  You likely have family or a loved one buried in the East Elfers Cemetery, or have purchased a pre-need plot.  The church has been custodian of this cemetery for decades.  Unfortunately, during this time, they have not seen fit to fund the Perpetual Care Trust Fund.

We have discussed this situation with Detectives and other members of the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office, and they feel it is appropriate that we, as individuals, contact the State of Florida Division of Funeral, Cemetery and Consumer Services .

On the Consumer Services site, about half way down the page, there is a “CLICK HERE” link to download a “fill out and mail in” complaint form.  Note:  this is an active form, some browsers will display a security warning – the form is safe, please ignore and continue.
